Curiosity, credit and care.
Viniside brings wine enthusiasts, researchers and professionals together to explore America’s wine evolution. These guidelines apply to profiles, discussions, ratings and private conversations.
Join as yourself
Create an account, verify your email and submit an introduction for Thomas’s approval. Use a display name that represents you honestly. Community membership is separate from approval to enter the private research archive.
Share stories responsibly
Be respectful. Identify sources, distinguish evidence from interpretation, and welcome corrections. Do not post harassment, personal attacks, private information, spam, unlawful offers, or historical scans you do not have permission to share. This community does not provide a wine marketplace.
Contributions and credit
You retain rights in your own contributions. By submitting a profile, story, review or reply, you give Viniside permission to store it, display it to the intended community audience and moderate it. This does not transfer ownership of your work to Thomas or permit unrelated commercial reuse. Credit other creators and respect source restrictions.
Ratings and professional interests
Rate wines and winery visits from your own experience. The scale is 1 to 5, with 5 highest. Explain your perspective; a community score is not a verified professional appraisal. Disclose employment, commercial relationships, free samples or sponsored visits. Professional descriptions on profiles are self-reported, not credentials verified by Viniside.
Your profile and information
Wix handles account sign-in and email verification. Viniside stores the profile fields you submit, your discussions, connections, messages and moderation reports. Your login email is not included in the member directory. Your region, role, interests and biography appear only if you opt into the directory and your profile is approved. You can change those choices in My profile; changes go through review.
Choose your connections
Allowing contact requests is optional and requires opting into the directory. A private conversation opens only after the recipient accepts. You can decline or close a connection to stop messages. Existing accepted connections remain until closed, even if you later leave the directory. Requests and replies appear in your Viniside inbox; email notifications are not currently sent.
Moderation and privacy limits
Profiles and contributions are reviewed before publication. Members can report contributions, and Thomas can withhold or remove material and suspend community access. Member conversations are restricted to the participants through the website; site administration can access stored community data for support and moderation. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted. Do not share bank details, passwords, confidential records or other sensitive information here.
Corrections and account help
Contact Thomas to request a correction, removal of a contribution, withdrawal of your profile or help with a connection. Research reproduction and licensing requests are handled separately.

Newsletter privacy
Newsletter subscriptions are optional and separate from community membership and private research access. Viniside uses Wix to store the email address you provide and your subscription status for newsletter delivery. Your address is not displayed publicly or shared with sponsors as a mailing list. Future editions may include clearly identified sponsorships or affiliate links.
Newsletter delivery has not begun. Once editions launch, you can unsubscribe through the link in each email. You can also ask Thomas to remove you at any time.
