How the work is done

Evidence, curiosity and credit.

Viniside explores America’s wine evolution through research and conversation. Readers should be able to see what supports a story and where questions remain.

Sources and interpretation

Public history pages link to the reference points used in preparing them. A landmark description, a brand history and a contemporary document serve different purposes. Where accounts differ, the difference should be explained rather than silently smoothed over.

A transcription records a reading of a source. A translation carries that reading into another language. Analysis explains an interpretation. Unclear words, probable identifications and missing evidence remain qualified.

Dates and scope

The reviewed date records when a public page was checked. It does not imply that every linked archive was reexamined or that a working interpretation is final. Publication of an introduction does not open the underlying private collection.

Corrections

Contact Thomas with the page address, the statement you question and supporting evidence if available. Material corrections should be identified on the affected page. A disagreement about interpretation should remain distinguishable from a factual or transcription error.

Member stories and ratings

Members’ memories and wine or winery ratings express their own experience. They are not authenticated historical evidence or professional appraisals. Profiles and contributions are moderated; ratings should identify relevant commercial relationships, invitations or complimentary experiences.

Sponsorship and affiliate links

Any paid placement, sponsored feature or link that may earn Viniside a commission should be labeled where it appears. A commercial relationship should not be presented as independent praise. Brand names used as historical subjects do not imply an endorsement or partnership.

Rights and reuse

Thomas’s original writing and research, historical source material and members’ contributions can have different rights holders. Reading access is separate from permission to reproduce. See the permissions policy and ask before reusing restricted material.
