Make your winery review useful.
A score tells people how you felt. A specific explanation helps them decide whether the experience is right for them.
Separate the parts of the visit.
- Hospitality: Describe the welcome, pacing, explanations and how questions were handled.
- Wine quality: Identify the wines and vintages you tasted, what you noticed and your preferences. Disliking a style is different from finding a fault.
- Value: Explain what the tasting included and the price you actually paid. State the visit date because offers change.
- Overall: Give your own considered rating. It need not be a mathematical average of the other scores.
A clear 1 to 5 scale.
| Score | Suggested meaning |
|---|---|
| 1 | Poor: specific, significant problems affected the experience. |
| 2 | Below expectations: explain what fell short. |
| 3 | Good: a satisfactory experience with clear strengths and limits. |
| 4 | Very good: several aspects stood out positively. |
| 5 | Exceptional for you: describe what made it distinctive. |
Leave a category unrated if you cannot judge it. Describe only what you experienced, and distinguish a practical observation from a general claim about the business.
Details worth preserving.
Include the date, tasting format, wines, length of the visit and anything that would help someone prepare. If discussing access needs, describe the specific feature you observed and refer readers to the winery for current arrangements. Disclose if you work in the trade, received a complimentary visit or have another relationship with the winery.
